Paul Hodson, The Future is Unwritten
The Future is Unwritten theatre company worked with The Garden on a five minute film that was part of our Brighton Festival production Thirteen. It was a great experience which we hope to repeat on other projects. The Garden were incredibly creative on a very limited budget, delivered on schedule and were a pleasure to work with.
Donna Close, Arts & Cultural Projects Manager, Brighton & Hove
It has been a really positive experience working with Garden Films. From their original pitch through the marketing, the filming process and editing and completion of final film, I have been really impressed with their flexible, creative and professional approach. They were very happy to work within a constrained timescale and to respond enthusiastically to a last minute expansion of the brief to include work with a film maker in Amiens which helped to ensure a really memorable project and final film.
Julie Watson, Project Manager, B&H Adult Learning Festival
The Garden Films have embraced the overarching aims of what our project is all about, and gone above and beyond what’s been required. Their artistic vision has played a key role in helping us to celebrate, update and encourage informal adult education for the City of Brighton & Hove. I look forward to following their progression!
Charles Dodwell, Fredericks Foundation
As part of a fundraising bid, we asked The Garden to produce a DVD at very short notice, to showcase our Client Case Studies. They came to our offices for a briefing and clearly understood what we needed to achieve. As a Charity we had a restricted budget, and Vicky and George tailored their product to our price. Within the timeframe we gave them, they produced an attractive and professional 15 minute film that we used for our bid. We were so pleased with the outcome that we ordered extra copies and it is now firmly part of our presentation package when talking to stakeholders.
Claire Martin, Oriel High School, Crawley.
The Garden worked with a mixed group of Oriel students from Year 7 to Year 10 on a make a film in a day workshop. They were fantastic! Students loved having the opportunity to work with Industry professionals; especially creating stories with the brilliant props Vicky and George provided. We teach storyboarding and scripting-writing through Media Studies but even I got some fantastic tips from the day that has improved my teaching. They are partly responsible for the 24% rise in our Media Studies GSCE results this year! Some of the boys that took part in the day can be difficult to engage in lessons; it was amazing to see them lead a team and direct a short film; the smiles of pride on their faces at the end of the day when they saw what they have achieved on film gave me one of those: I know why I do this after all moments!
